On November 18, the inaugural Graduate Forum of the Global Alliance of Universities on Climate was held, students and academics around the world gathered in Tsinghua University to exchange ideas for pathways to low carbon transition. To induce the spirit of the forum and to welcome the international participants, Tsinghua has introduced various low-carbon initiatives, coupled together in the Environmental Cultural Week. With multiple low carbon initiatives from aspects of technology, food-waste, second-hand exchanges, an accumulation of more than four thousand students participated during the week.
During the week, students collected plastic bottles, lunch boxes, packaging, and other wastes to make interactive exhibits, also exhibited photographs and art paintings related to climate-protection. The related works were showcased in the "When Art Meets Climate" exhibition.

In addition, student associations, including the Tsinghua University Student Green Association, carried out activities such as waste classification pop quiz, recycled paper production, and launched the "plastic-free coffee flashmob."
Finally, to welcome the arrival of the participants around the world, Tsinghua students also prepared cultural performances such as Chinese juggling, Peking opera, and "When you Believe" Akabella chorus.
