Student Program
GAUC encourages and strengthens cooperation among its member universities to cultivate diverse talents in the field of climate change. We organize and carry out joint learning projects, student exchanges, training program, innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives, and other related endeavors. Furthermore, GAUC provides leadership to the global higher education community by promoting active participation in climate action through research, education, and public service, while working collaboratively with industry, civil society, and relevant organizations. GAUC also enhances public awareness and strives to build consensus for the transition to a carbon-neutral society at both global and local levels.
The youth generation is the backbone of the net-zero future, not only the inheritor, but also the owner, creator, and leader of this future. The ideology of 'Climate x'emphasizes that the global development issues we are facing are closely related to each other. To achieve carbon neutrality, it is needed to respect nature, cross-disciplinary barriers, and explore innovative solutions from the perspective of synergies between climate action and the other 16 SDGs.
This online training program was established to inspire and empower emerging leaders through the cultivation of the 'Climate x' Mind set. Equip youth with the knowledge, skills, and tools, helping them globally envision a sustainable future, take meaningful action, and unlock their potential as talents for the carbon-neutral future.
This training program opens to all university students across the global. To apply for the training program, please visit: https://climatexleadership.gauc.net/
In the face of accelerating climate change, equipping young people with the knowledge and practical skills for climate action is increasingly important. Immersive, practice-based learning combined with cross-cultural exchange offers an effective way to connect global climate challenges with locally grounded solutions.
The GAUC Secretariat and the Institute of Climate Change and Sustainable Development at Tsinghua University jointly organize the GAUC Climate x Immersive Summer Program, to be held in Guizhou Province, China, from July 1 to July 10, 2026. Designed as an in-person exchange platform for GAUC member universities, the program aims to foster collaboration among students and faculty while empowering future climate leaders through immersive, practice-based learning.
